See God        (face to face)

     Face-to-face means the phenomenon you would immediately call God is directly above you. Is that proof enough? You’re here, it is there. It comes, you experience it, and it is gone. It is bigger, more brilliant, more radiant, more perfect than anything you have ever experienced or been able to imagine. The sound that accompanies it is louder and more beautiful than anything you have ever heard, and although it is deafening it doesn’t hurt while you are hearing it (your ears will be sore for days afterwards, though). Is that proof enough? The energy that is flooding your being while you are irradiated in its presence is experienced as perfect love. It is infinitely beyond the most flawless version of human love; it is love like the surface of the sun is light, and our deepest and most enduring emotion is but a spark. Is that proof enough?

     So, there is your proof. It is firsthand, first person, in your face proof. It isn’t an old primate glowing in the clouds, surrounded by small primates with wings. It is real. It is a phenomenon. It vastly exceeds your capacity to perceive. It could spawn all the life within this universe simply by being. Perhaps this universe is its body. It is that great a presence. You could call it nothing but God, and that word could never again have another meaning.

     So now it is your turn. What would you do to have this experience? Would you spend months praying in the desert, eating bugs to keep your body alive? Would you repeat the Prayer of the Heart fifteen thousand times a day for twenty years? Would you spend the rest of your life praying in complete silence in a tiny cell? Just what would you sacrifice to see the actual fact of the phenomenon that you would absolutely consider God? Would you give up all of your money? Would you give up your name, everything you own, your friends and family? Would you give up your job and all of your future prospects? Or would you only be willing to watch the spokesperson for a team of leading scientists announce on network news, that they had developed a sensing device that actually found the phenomenon that must certainly be considered God, and they were in the process of investigating just what type of energy it was made of, and whether or not there might be some way to communicate with it?

     You don’t need to become a religious recluse or fanatic to see the fact of this phenomenon directly in front of you. But you do need to strip yourself of everything except your pure awareness. It can be done, and in every moment it is your choice whether or not you will be available for the proof.
