Because we all make mistakes and poor choices we do need forgiveness, but not from God. Forgiveness is something that human beings must do for each other. Without it we are endlessly mired in our failings. Forgiveness liberates us. It allows us to grow and improve, and we all benefit whenever one of us becomes better. We need forgiveness because we remember our own and each other’s transgressions. This is not the case with God. God has no memory.
It is because of our limitations that we need our memory to understand what is happening and what is likely to happen. Unlike God, we remember far better than we see. The truth is never hidden from God, and it is never in the no longer existing past. So, you may need to forgive yourself, and others may need to forgive you, but God doesn’t remember. God sees the only thing that is real, the truth of you in this unending present moment. You do need to continue growing in goodness and unfiltered awareness, but as far as God is concerned there is nothing to forgive.
